PF Presidency Hon Eng. Katotobwe dives into the race

Staff Reporter Lusaka Zambia- As Zambians set to hold their general elections this year in August , which comprises of Presidency, Members of Parliament, Councillors and Council chairs. Political parties are in dire of selecting their candidates who will be kin to favourites and push for victory. In the opposition PF ,a new force has emerged. The long serving PF member and member of Parliament for Luapula Constituency, Hon Eng Chanda Katotobwe has dived into the race. With his untainted profile, many views his coming in as a game changer .Zambia’s former ruling party Patriotic Front (PF) will be having their inter party elections on a date to be announced soon to choose their candidates that will represent them come August general elections. Inter party fighting has begin to rise as the party supporters and the executives are accusing some of their members to be allied to UPND led by President Hakainde Hichilema. Some contestants to the internal party conventions are known loyalists of President Hakainde Hichilema and are often publicly caught in comprising position .At the center of the controversy is some of the members including Hon Given Lubinda and Hon Miles Sampa a former Health Minister who’s is member of PF party and a candidate for tomorrow’s election believed to be a close ally to UPND Leader President Hakainde Hichilema. Miles was also said to be impositioned to be Pf Leader by President Hakainde Hichilema in the last disputed convention in October 2023.Speaking to this publication demanding anonymity some of the party members they are said to backing Eng Chanda Katotobwe a member of Parliament for Luapula Constituency in Lunga district.”Am having Faith in Eng Chanda , I have worked with him during the late President Lungu and the late President Sata he is a well devout man simple ,committed and very engageable “.Eng Katotobwe a party’s favourite a member of Parliament emerging from Luapula Province in Zambia is a renowed bussinessman holding a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Engineering in Construction Management, he also servers in the Parliamentary Portifolio on Media and Information Communications Technology and also in the committee Energy, Water Development and Tourism to mention among other responsibilities.
